Review Guidelines

Last updated: 13 October 2026

French Daina helps people discover honest reviews and make informed decisions about Indian companies. These guidelines explain who can write a review, how reviews are verified and moderated, what content is permitted, and how company ratings are calculated.

We welcome positive, neutral, and negative feedback. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences and comply with our guidelines. Companies cannot pay to improve their ratings or remove legitimate criticism simply because it is unfavourable.

1. Who Can Write a Review?

Anyone with a genuine personal experience of a company may submit a review, subject to our review guidelines.

Reviewers must verify their email address using a one-time code before posting. Email verification confirms access to the email account but does not, by itself, prove that a purchase took place.

Each account may submit one review per company. Reviews should describe the reviewer's own experience and be honest, relevant, and based on actual interactions with the company.

We do not allow:

  • Fabricated reviews or invented customer experiences.

  • Reviews submitted through fake accounts, bots, or coordinated manipulation campaigns.

  • Reviews intended to unfairly promote a company or damage a competitor.

  • Reviews by company owners, employees, or other parties with an undisclosed conflict of interest.

  • Duplicate reviews intended to manipulate ratings.

Where the platform permits, users may update their existing reviews to reflect a genuine change in their experience.

2. Verified Purchase Badge

Reviewers may voluntarily submit an invoice, receipt, order confirmation, or other suitable evidence to support a claimed purchase or transaction.

Our team reviews the submitted evidence. If it meets our verification requirements, the review may receive a Verified Purchase badge.

Verification documents are not displayed publicly. They are handled by authorised personnel in accordance with our privacy and data-handling practices.

The badge indicates that supporting evidence has been reviewed. It does not mean that every statement in a review has been independently verified or that French Daina endorses the company.

Reviews without a Verified Purchase badge may still be published if they meet our general guidelines.

3. Genuine Reviews and Prohibited Incentives

Reviews must represent genuine experiences and independent opinions. We do not permit businesses or individuals to buy, manufacture, or manipulate customer feedback.

Reviews must not be submitted in exchange for money, discounts, gifts, free products, services, refunds, or other benefits intended to influence the review or rating.

Companies may invite customers to share honest feedback, provided the request is neutral and does not pressure customers to leave a positive review or discourage negative feedback.

We do not permit selective review solicitation designed to encourage only satisfied customers to publish reviews while diverting dissatisfied customers away from the review process.

4. How We Detect Fake Reviews

French Daina may use automated checks, unusual-activity signals, user reports, and human moderation to identify potentially misleading or manipulated reviews.

Our checks may identify:

  • Unusual volumes of reviews submitted within a short period.

  • Repeated or substantially duplicated review content.

  • Patterns suggesting coordinated review activity.

  • Potential conflicts of interest or undisclosed affiliations.

  • Attempts to manipulate ratings through multiple accounts.

A flagged review is not automatically considered fake. We may examine the available information and request additional evidence before making a decision.

Depending on the circumstances, we may delay publication, restrict visibility, remove a review that violates our guidelines, or take action against repeat offenders.

Although we work to identify abuse, no detection system can guarantee that every misleading review will be detected.

5. What Companies Can and Cannot Do

Companies may claim their profiles, update their business information, respond publicly to reviews, and report content they believe violates our guidelines.

Companies cannot:

  • Buy positive reviews or arrange fabricated customer feedback.

  • Offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews or changes to ratings.

  • Pressure customers to remove legitimate negative reviews.

  • Edit, hide, or reorder reviews simply because they are unfavourable.

  • Use a paid subscription to influence ratings or moderation decisions.

A company may report a review if it believes the content violates our policies. Our moderation team assesses the report against the published guidelines. A review is not removed solely because a company disagrees with the reviewer's opinion.

Paid business plans may provide additional profile or business features, but they do not purchase favourable ratings, guaranteed positive reviews, or preferential moderation.

6. Conflicts of Interest

Reviews must reflect independent experiences rather than undisclosed commercial, professional, or personal interests.

Company owners, employees, representatives, competitors, and other parties with a material conflict of interest must not submit misleading reviews or use reviews to manipulate a company's reputation.

We may investigate reviews where the available information suggests a conflict of interest or coordinated activity.

7. How Company Ratings Are Calculated

A company's displayed rating is the arithmetic average of its published numerical review ratings, shown to one decimal place.

Average rating = Total of eligible published star ratings ÷ Number of eligible published ratings.

For example, ratings of 5, 4, 4, 3, and 5 stars produce an average rating of 4.2 out of 5.

Only published ratings eligible under our rating methodology contribute to the average. Unpublished reviews and reviews removed for policy violations are excluded.

Ratings may change when eligible reviews are published, updated, or removed following a moderation decision. We do not adjust ratings based on a company's subscription, advertising expenditure, or commercial relationship with French Daina.

8. Content We Do Not Allow

Reviews should be relevant, factual, respectful, and based on the reviewer's own experience. We may remove or restrict content that contains:

  • False, fabricated, or deliberately misleading claims.

  • Spam, advertising, promotional links, or repetitive submissions.

  • Personal attacks, threats, harassment, or hate speech.

  • Private information, such as personal phone numbers, home addresses, or confidential records, published without appropriate authorisation.

  • Unsupported allegations of criminal conduct presented as established fact.

  • Content that violates applicable law or these guidelines.

We recognise that genuine reviews may describe poor service, disappointing products, billing disputes, or other negative experiences. Respectful criticism is permitted and will not be removed merely because it is unfavourable to a company.

9. Reporting and Moderation

Users and companies may report reviews they believe violate these guidelines. Reports should identify the relevant review and explain the suspected violation.

Our moderation team assesses reported content against our published rules. We may request supporting information when necessary. Reporting a review does not guarantee its removal.

Where a review violates our guidelines, we may remove it or take other appropriate action. Repeated or serious violations may result in account restrictions or suspension.

Where an appeal process is available, users or companies may request a further review of a moderation decision by providing relevant supporting information.

10. Privacy and Supporting Evidence

Reviewers should not publish another person's private or confidential information. Supporting documents submitted for verification are handled in accordance with our privacy policy and applicable data-protection requirements.

Reviewers should avoid including payment details, identification numbers, private correspondence, or other sensitive information in publicly visible reviews.

11. Our Commitment to Fairness

French Daina aims to maintain a review environment in which customers can share genuine experiences and companies can respond fairly.

  • Positive and negative reviews are treated under the same published standards.

  • Verification badges communicate the scope of the evidence reviewed.

  • Companies can respond but cannot purchase control over customer feedback.

  • Ratings are calculated using the stated methodology.

  • Moderation decisions are based on policy compliance, not commercial relationships.

Our commitment is simple: honest feedback, transparent standards, and fair treatment for reviewers and companies alike.
